Device is the second short film I produced during my time at UT Austin, and although it’s pretty rough around the edges, I’m very proud of my work on it.

The excerpt I’ve chosen to show is indicative of the kind of work in film I’m endeavoring towards. This snippet of my imagination has expanded into a fully-fledged story called Interactions, or the Strange Case of Bruce and Barry.

Here’s a synopsis: A lonely college student, Bruce, discovers through his dreams that he has a malevolent alter ego named Barry, who seeks to ruin his friendships and rob him of his desire to find true love, but when the girl of his dreams appears in a dream, and as the border dividing imagination from reality blurs, he’ll come face to face with the greatest of all adversaries — himself.

Gnome - My first short film

I have nothing but fond memories of making this little short. It’s what kickstarted my work on Interactions, and it cemented my love for the medium of film. When I shot it with my friends Evan, Jason, and Lauren back in Spring 2022 with my iPhone, the story was nothing but a seed of an idea, one that grew into an epic journey of self discovery, compassion, and healing.

Life was simpler then, but I’ve come a long way since.

One day, hopefully soon, I’ll publish this story. Sooner than that, there will be updates to this page! So stay tuned.
